The new standard IATF 16949: 2016 from 2018 will replace ISO / TS 16949

The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) has published a new quality management standard (QMS) for the automotive industry - IATF 16949: 2016. The new standard will help organizations to continuously improve their quality management systems and respond to market demands created by increasingly complex supply chains in the automotive industry and competition in the global market.
What is the new standard offering and how will the implementation of the standard requirements be brought to our enterprise?
The organization should determine the context of the organization, needs and expectations of stakeholders (paragraphs 4.1-4.2);
Availability of requirements for full conformity of products / services of the automotive industry with regulatory and legislative requirements (paragraph 4.4.1.1.);
Substantial emphasis was placed on the responsibility for product safety (paragraph 4.4.1.2.);
There was a demand to counter corruption: a policy on corporate responsibility should be developed and implemented, which should include resistance to bribery (paragraph 5.5.1.1);
There was a requirement to assess the risks when selecting suppliers, an expanded list of criteria for selecting suppliers is given (paragraph 8.4.1.2);
Great attention is paid to the safety of operators and the ergonomics of workplaces (application of lean manufacturing principles) (paras. 8.5.1.2, 7.1.3.1);
The organization must determine the necessary actions to ensure product quality in the event of planned and unplanned stops (8.5.1.4);
The decision to finalize nonconforming products should be based on the results of the FMEA risk analysis (paragraph 8.7.1.4);
Additional requirements for the content of information on inappropriate products, including on its traceability (paragraph 8.7.1.4) have been introduced;
Requirements for internal audit of QMS, processes and products have been changed: requirements for periodicity of audits have been established, emphasis has been placed on fulfilling special requirements of consumers (clauses 9.2.2.1-9.2.2.4);
The requirements for the initial information for QMS analysis by management have been expanded (paragraph 9.3.2.1);
Emphasis is placed on preventing errors (paragraph 10.2.4).
In general, IATF 16949 introduces a risk-based approach to processes throughout the organization.
ISO / TS 16949: 2009 certified organizations have time until September 14, 2018 to upgrade to a new version, so all personnel of our company need to work very fruitfully in the 1st quarter of 2018 to introduce new requirements into the quality management system.
The competition in the market of the automobile industry, as well as the services for servicing cars, has been and remains very high. Large domestic and foreign manufacturers make their suppliers and partners increasingly demanding.
The certificate of compliance with the requirements of the standard IATF 16949: 2016 is a reliable certificate of high quality of the products and services provided. Compliance with its requirements is a pass to the world of automotive industry.
